What to have ready before you call a Florida insurer

A short, prepared call is faster than a long one. Keep these in front of you before you dial any Florida insurance companies contact number:

  • The patient’s name as it appears on the card, date of birth and address.
  • Your individual NPI (National Provider Identifier) and your tax ID.
  • The date of service, the CPT code and the total billed amount. See the non-E/M CPT guide and the E/M CPT guide for psychiatrists.
  • The claim number from the payer portal, if you have one.

Write down the name of the representative and a call reference number. Phone menus, holds and transfers can add up, and a dropped call means starting over. If you would rather not make these calls, MCM South does it for psychotherapists and psychiatrists.

Yes. Florida is one of the ten states MCM South serves, for psychotherapists and psychiatrists. Insurance verification, denied claim follow-up and credentialing are part of the work.
