Why we point practices to SimplePractice

Our founder, Michael Williams, consulted for SimplePractice for seven years, working with its clearinghouse on billing issues. He has seen how the software handles claims from the inside. That is the reason it is the one software company we link to as an affiliate.

What SimplePractice does

SimplePractice lists these tools on its pricing page. Check the plan details there before you decide.

  • Scheduling and an appointment request widget
  • Telehealth, including group telehealth
  • Client records and clinical notes
  • Insurance billing tools
  • Care Aide, its AI add-on (see below)

Care Aide: SimplePractice’s AI tools

Care Aide is a paid add-on to SimplePractice plans. According to SimplePractice’s Care Aide guide, it includes Note Taker, Intake Summaries, Session Prep, Session Sidekick, Client Summaries, and Treatment Planner. SimplePractice says clinicians must review all AI-generated content, and that client consent is required before using the AI features. Make sure your consent forms cover what you turn on.

October 2026 offer

As of October 2, 2026, SimplePractice’s partner program lists a 7-day free trial plus 50% off your first 4 months. It also lists a 45-day Care Aide free trial for clinicians who start it between October 6 and October 21, 2026. Offers change, and SimplePractice sets the final terms at sign-up. Questions to ask before you pick practice software

These questions apply to any software, SimplePractice included.

  • How do you see clients? Check that it handles individual sessions, group sessions, and telehealth the way you run them.
  • Who will use it? A solo owner and a team have different needs. SimplePractice says Account Owners can turn Care Aide on for themselves and for team members.
  • How will you handle insurance claims? SimplePractice’s pricing page lists an Insurance Navigator add-on marked as coming soon, so check what is available when you sign up.
  • Are your consent forms ready? If you use AI tools, client consent comes first.

Your answers show where software ends and billing help begins. Software keeps your records and schedule in order. A billing service works your claims, denials, and appeals.
